“When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years.” – Mark Twain

My Father was a very interesting person.

When ever we would get in trouble, our punishment was a lecture from our Dad. Depending on the nature of our crime, the lecture could go for 20 minutes to 2 hours.

And it was always full of my Father’s wisdom, from everything he had learned in life.

Being lectured for me was the worst punishment. I would get bored to tears, not understanding half of what he was saying, or having different beliefs than the ones he believed in.

But some of it did sink in, and I am appreciative for what my father tried to teach me.

Now that I am an adult, I can look back and understand my father a bit better.

When I was young, my only experience with organized religion was through the Church of Religious Science. For about three years I went to Sunday School, and was taught to think positively. I can remember one lesson in particular.

My Sunday school teacher, Mrs. Paine, explained the difference to us of how asking for something positively would have better results than asking negatively. She gave us this example:

If you want to go to the park, but you don’t believe your parents will do it, you will say “We can’t go to the park today, can we?” And they will say “No”. But if you ask ” Can we go to the park today?”, they may say yes!

Of the three years spent in the classroom, that is what sticks out in my mind.

My father was a strong believer in the Power of Positive Thinking, and he tried to pass that on to all of us kids. Through his lectures, daily conversations, and sometimes through his actions.

Although he was a workaholic, he never gained much from all of his endeavors. He was a brilliant electronic engineer, almost to the point of being eccentric. He often worked for himself, but would always bid short on jobs, and end up giving away his designs.

Now that I look back, I can see that my Father did not have all the information, he only had part of it.

If he had known, if someone had taught him, I know he would have passed the information on to us, as he cherished us and wanted us to be successful in life.

He simply did not know.

My father did not believe in himself, he did not think he was capable of success, and always threw roadblocks up for himself to stumble upon.

Although he strongly believed in the power of the mind, and positive thinking, he never had a dream, a vision of what he wanted in life. He knew the mind was powerful, but did not know how to use it consciously.

If only he had believed in himself, if he had known how to use the power of positive thinking, if only he had a dream of what he wanted, if only.

Listening to the “Your Wish is Your Command” CD set, they talk about the knowledge of how to achieve anything you want in life, and how this information is passed down from generation to generation within the highly successful elite class.

I understand why my father was not able to teach me. He did not know himself. He had part of the information, but not the whole picture.

Now that I am getting an inkling as to what brings true happiness and success in life, I am working on changing my way of thinking and being. Even at this late stage in life (I am 56) I now have access to the powerful information that has been missing in my life.

I now understand what happiness really is, because I feel it every day. For me it is an awareness of the world around me, and a deep appreciation for everything I have. It is the joy of looking at the beauty of nature around me.

In the CD’s, Kevin states that the most important thing to wish for is happiness, and to continue to feel even better.

My sister, who is already a member of GIN, has listened to the CD’s, and in fact gave me a set for my birthday, recently told me

The most powerful thing that I learned from the CDs was in projecting what I would like in my life, and putting myself in that picture, I discovered that I didn’t feel any better. And that what needed to change was me. The Feel Good now is the most powerful statement; I need to change my reactions and feelings now. I tend to get frustrated easily over some stuff. So I am working on that, and on being happy now. And when I project what I want with good feelings of being happy now, then I realized that I could have that now, the feeling good.

What do we need to feel rich? Bigger house, better car? We should feel rich now. If we don’t feel rich now for what we do have, we will never feel rich. I certainly have a lot to be thankful for. I work at the most amazing place, so much beauty all around, with a wide variety of tasks, never boring.

So the being thankful, grateful, and appreciating what you have is a big part of it.

She summed up exactly what I was feeling, if you are not feeling happy now, with what you do have, what will make you happy? The first step is in the discovery of gratefulness and appreciation, acknowledging what brings you happiness in your life.

The second step is to visualize what you would like added to your life to bring you even more happiness.

The third step is to BELIEVE that you can create and design your life how ever you want it to be.

The power of the mind, when focused on attracting the positive into your life, will make it happen.

How will it make it happen?

Once you have focused on what you want, doors will open, opportunities will present themselves to bring into your life what you are asking for, that is the Law of Attraction.

If my Father had known this, I know he would have taught me.

I am still listening to the Your Wish is Your Command CD series, I am on CD 8 now.

And I am so inspired!

I will share with you one of the ideas presented, and you will understand why I am so excited!

Kevin explains the learning process so clearly and precisely. I am going to show an example.

I live in an extended family household in Thailand. I have a 3 month old granddaughter, and I have been having the most amazing time watching her grow and learn.

Not Knowing Stage (Unconscious Incompetence)

Abigail my granddaughter, is going through the hand stage. When she was first born, she had no idea she had a part of her body that was a hand, that she could control.

Knowing Stage (Conscious Incompetence)

Abigail becomes aware of her hand, but doesn’t know how to control it yet.

Aware Stage (Conscious Competence)

With concentrated effort and repeated attempts she is finally able to control her hand.

Unconsciously Capable Stage (Unconscious Competence)

Abigail is now able to use her hands for whatever she wants without having to think about it. Control of her hands has become automatic for her.

I see the process very clearly.

What is so exciting to me, is that Kevin is taking us through the learning stages on the CD’s. That is one reason the tapes are so addictive. Once you understand where he is taking you, the desire to learn continues to grows stronger.

Not Knowing Stage (Unconscious Incompetence)

I have learned new information that I did not know was available. Powerful information that will turn a light on in most people’s heads. Particularly those that are interested in actually bringing into their lives more joy, happiness, appreciation, gratefulness, excitement, exuberance, zest for life!

He is walking us through the second stage.

Knowing Stage (Conscious Incompetence)

Now that I know this information, it will be with me for the rest of my life. Just knowing the information changes you. The decision now is whether you want to use the information or continue with your life status quo.

Aware Stage (Conscious Competence)

Kevin doesn’t just give you the concepts, he is actually teaching how to take that information from the unknown stage to Conscious Competent.

I have been practicing what I have learned, and I can feel the difference in my life already. I am happier, optimistic, appreciative of what I have, and have defined my dream that will make me feel even better! And to me, that is pretty exciting!

To reach Unconscious Competence is the goal.

Once I reach the last CD it will be up to me to take what I have learned to the Unconscious Competence level. I have the tools I need to do that with now, and know how to use them. Knowing what I know now, how could I not?

Each day I am understanding even more the value of becoming a member. It certainly is not necessary, with the information and practical exercises and steps to take already given to you in the CD’s is all you really need. Membership is just an option to surround yourself with resources and positive connections to help you reach your goals a little faster.

I can certainly see why the people who attended the seminar in person paid over $11,000 for this information. I am really surprised that the price of the CD’s is actually as low as it is. (Thankful, but surprised)

I have been listening with great interest to the Your Wish is Your Command CD set, and quite frankly the information is very exciting and encouraging!

But I would never tell you what is on the CD’s.

Why?

Because I am just learning and understanding it myself, and to try to tell you what is on the CD’s would be a disservice to you, as I would never be able to explain the principles and facts involved as well as Kevin does on the CD.

Because the way he presents the information is so clear and methodical, each idea presented ties in with the previous, so you are receiving information in a particular order that helps put it all together for you.

For me to try to tell you what is on the CD’s would be like the story of the 3 blind men who encountered an elephant.

Upon touching the elephant’s tail, the first blind man exclaimed “I declare, an elephant is exactly like a rope.”

The second blind man, bumping into the elephants side, said “No sir, you are wrong. An elephant is exactly like a wall.”

Then the third, having grasped the elephant’s trunk, declared “You are both mistaken. The elephant is exactly like a snake!”

At this point I could not give you a clear overall picture of what the information on the CD covers, I could only give you bits and pieces, and that would be from what I understood and grasped.

I do not want to describe to you an elephant from how the trunk feels, as you would have a misconception of what an elephant really looked like.

But what I can tell you is that the information on the CD’s is so simple, it is the type of information that will give you a big “Aha!” moment that will last for the rest of your life.

Listening to the CD’s is like sitting in a dark room and having someone slowly turn on the light with a dimmer switch, until the room is brightly lit and you can see clearly everything around you in that room, and you find that you are surrounded by beauty.

You may have sat in that room in the dark many times before, totally unaware of the beauty that was surrounding you. Now that you have seen the room in the bright light, it creates a lasting impression on you, and even if the room grows dark again, you will be able to feel and picture in your mind the beauty around you.

Would you listen to the CD’s if they were free?

Probably not. Listen to 14 CD’S ??? That is a lot of time to spend!

Would you listen to them if you had invested money into it?

More likely.

Would you listen to them if you had invested money and knew that the information would benefit your daily life?

I would hope so!

With my Journal entries I will be trying to share how the tapes are affecting me, which may help you decide whether you want to listen to them for yourself.

I am half way through the CD’s now, and will be posting as I go through the rest of the CD’S.

I live in Thailand, with my son Sean, his wife Pink, and their 3 month old daughter Abigail. We live in a big, beautiful house, that sits on a river, which is really great, because we also have 2 dogs, and one of them Jake, our Golden Retriever, just loves to spend the day playing in the water. Life is fairly good.

Recently the river has dried up, and Jake started exploring further up the dry river bed, and found a place where there was a dog in heat, and he would sit on the riverbank all day looking at this house.

Apparently these neighbors gave him bones, and were friendly to him at first, which encouraged him to go back every day. Then they started complaining that he was trampling their garden.

We have tried to figure out a way to keep him away from there, considering our backyard has full access to the river it is quite difficult.

Thursday, Jake did not come home for dinner as he usually does. Friday my son went to this neighbor to ask him if he had seen him Jake, and his reply was that Jake had left there at 5:00 the previous day, which would be about right, Jake has an uncanny sense for dinner time.

Friday night, again no Jake. We have driven all around the neighborhood, looking for him, with no luck.

Today, Saturday, my son went back to the neighbors to ask again if they have seen Jake. There were other people at the house this time besides the owners, and they made a reference that we were not good dog owners, further suggesting that he may have been kidnapped, possibly to be sold or taken to the meat market. Sean did not get a good feeling from these people at all, like they knew a lot more than they were saying.

My first reaction to the situation is anger, believing that these people had seen Jake as a pest and arranged to have him removed, to either be sold (he is a purebred) or simply sent to the dog meat market.

My mind is filled with angry thoughts and bad ideas about what to do. I told my son I would go over there and start pulling out their plants one by one, demanding them to tell us what they did with our dog, and not stop until they did. A rather aggressive approach for sure.

We contacted Care for Dogs, the local dog rescue organization here in Chiang Mai, to ask for their advice of where to look if he was being sold. They were extremely helpful, and gave us directions to a market that was known to sell kidnapped dogs, and my son took off to check it out and see if he could find Jake.

Anger, and of course fear, is boiling up inside of me. And I stopped and thought about what I have been learning.

How you react to a situation defines the outcome. So I started thinking of how I could turn all this anger into something more positive.

While my son was gone, I came up with a new approach to the problem.

What I wanted was Jake back, from wherever he had disappeared to. If these people had any information, I wanted it. So I came up with the idea of printing up a flier, offering a reward for the return of Jake, and taking it to them in a friendly manner and asking for their help.

As soon as I started thinking along more positive lines, I immediately began to feel better. The anger disappeared, my headache went away, and I started feeling more optimistic.

My son returned without Jake.

Standing in the front yard discussing what to do next, we heard a familiar bark a few blocks away. My son jumped on his Motorbike to explore the source. Was it Jake?

It was! He found Jake stranded on the second floor of a house that was under construction. He had managed to climb the stairs up, but was afraid to come down! As far as we know, he had been there since Thursday night.

We are so happy to have Jake back, and I learned a powerful lesson. I have a tendency to let negative feelings control my reactions to bad situations, which is very unhealthy and unhelpful.

Luckily, we did not have to print up the posters and try my approach, but the process of recognizing my negative reaction, and taking control and changing it, was very powerful for me.

So now we are working on a way to build a barrier to keep Jake inside our yard and out of the river. When the water begins to flow again, and his private swimming hole is back, we will let him out to swim.

While doing some research recently I came across a couple of websites that were questioning the legitimacy of Global Information Network.

Having become an affiliate, and planning on joining myself in the near future, I was curious as to what people were saying.

My first response was “Oh no, have I been sucked into a scam?” I have always prided myself with being sensible and promoting only products or ideas that I truly believed in.

I was alarmed by headlines like “Warning Notice! (The Global Information Network) Scam!

Reading through this post I discovered several things.

The original post was about a dubious marketing tactic someone employed using YouTube. It raised questions in the receiver’s mind, and using a knee jerk reaction posted a warning about something that he had no clear idea of what it was all about.

If you follow the threads, and read the comments, you will find the usual mindless reactions from people who have no knowledge on the subject.

But you will also find some good threads in there from knowledgeable people, who have listened to the tapes, who have joined, and have greatly benefited from their memberships.

On the Warrior Forum I found another thread about Global Information Network, mostly negative from people who don’t have a clue about what Global Information Network is all about.

Nothing of substance, until you come across a few of the threads written by people who have read the books, listened to the tapes, and understand what GIN is really all about.

I also found websites like Jeffrey Smith’s The Global Information Network Review, that clearly and succinctly lays out what GIN is all about, a very good resource for someone wanting to find factual information about GIN.

Joining Global Information Network is a big step, a life changing event that is not something for everyone. It is an investment of your time and money in bringing positive change into your life.

It is not a get rich scheme, nor an “easy money” game. It is a program to help retrain your mind and your attitudes, showing you step by step how to get where you want to be in life. By people who have used these same methods to get where they are today.

Whew, my momentary fears that I have been sucked into a scam have not only been relieved, but my enthusiasm for GIN has doubled!

If you have not heard about, read, or seen the movie “The Secret“, you must have had your head in the sand this past decade!

When “The Secret” came out, people everywhere were excited about the possibilities of finally getting everything they wanted in life, simply by using “The Secret”

While it sounds easy, there is more to “The Law of Attraction” than just wishful thinking, and many people became discouraged when they had no results, and began to call it a scam.

The “Law of Attraction” does in fact work, after all, it is a “Law”. What most people don’t understand is how to be in control of what it is they are attracting.

Shortly before the book “The Secret” came out, I was reading Dr. Joe Vitale’s book “Spiritual Marketing”. In his book he talks about the “Law of Attraction”, and gives a specific exercise to do.

The exercise was to write out in detail exactly what you wanted, by hand, not on a computer, and to let this permeate your subconscious.

At the time, I had just begun to realize that I was not in control of my life, I was simply reacting to circumstances and events that came my way.

My husband and I had always talked about the dream of buying an RV and traveling. I realized that unless I took control of my life, and took steps to make that dream happen, it would always remain a dream, and I would continue to live my life reacting to it, instead of guiding it.

We had gone to many RV shows looking at what the options were, but we had no money, no nest egg, no assets to speak of, so the idea of buying a new RV seemed to make our dream impossible.

I decided to give Joe’s “Wish List” a try.

With my husband’s help, we defined exactly what we wanted in our RV. The Make, the Model, the features we wanted it to have.

I put all of these details down in my list, along with many other desires, just as Joe said to do.

Now, for me, defining exactly what I wanted gave me a road map, if you will, of how to get there. I realized our RV would not just show up on our doorstep (although I now question that train of thought) so I started searching the ads online.

And I found EXACTLY the RV that we were looking for, and it was affordable for us, it was actually obtainable!

The point being, once I had a clear idea of what it was I wanted, I found it. From that point our lives changed dramatically. We were actually able to live our dream of traveling in a super comfortable RV living the lifestyle we had chosen, seeing all the sights we had longed to see.

So I have experienced a small success with the “Law of Attraction”, but I know there is a lot about it I do not know or understand, and GIN does seem to have many of the answers to questions I have about how to make it work on a bigger scale.

I am definitely open to learning more.

What about you?
